New Tennis & Netball Courts Are Open!!

On Saturday 21st September 2013 Witchford Village College officially opened their new netball and tennis courts. The courts were funded through the ‘Inspiring Facilities’ programme run by Sport England. The funding received enable the college to  refurbish and build a facility that now houses 3 netball courts and 6 tennis courts and provide floodlighting to half.

Local clubs were invited to run free taster sessions for adults and children throughout the day. These sessions included, netball, tennis, football, archery, trampolining and pilates.

The official opening of the courts was done by Simon Fairhall, Chief Exec of Living Sport, County Sports Partnership.

Everyone who attended had the opportunity to take part in the various sports and also find out more about the facilities and programmes available through Witchford Village College and their Community Education Department.

Di Baker, Sports Partnership Manager, said ‘the facilities will make a huge difference to the students at the college and also the local community. We are really pleased and excited about opening the new courts and being able to develop tennis and netball opportnities.’
