The Centenary Poppy Campaign originated as an idea in the Greenhithe and Swanscombe Branch of the British Legion and has captured the imagination of the public, including the Prime Minister, and is now being rolled out nationally.
The aim of the national Centenary Poppy Campaign is to cover the UK with poppies during the centenary period in commemoration of all those who lost their lives in the First World War.
There will be a Flanders poppy planting at Broadway, Witchford at 10am this Sunday 18th May.
Several open spaces have been prepared and we hope for a lovely show of poppies to commemorate the start of WW1 in August. The seeds have been donated by local businesses and have been mixed with sand. Yoghurt pots will be filled ready for ease of sowing so it will only take a few minutes.
Please come along to help...
